Our morning on this third day we started at the Swaminarayan Akshardham Hindu Temple in New Delhi. From an historical standpoint in India, this temple has been here for just a blip in time. You might expect this structure of amazing beauty to be a few hundred years old but it is just ten. They don't allow pictures so all you get is the shot of the postcard we bought.

Moving back in time, our second stop we visited Mahatma Gandhi's cremation site at Rajgat. The site isn't very elaborate nor spectacular, a nice simple memorial with extensive gardens surrounding it. Apparently Indians enjoy taking pictures with westerners as much as we enjoy taking pictures of them and their historical landmarks and everyday experiences. As we were putting our shoes back on Mom wanted a picture so they got one and so did I. Cute kids!
Our first stop in Old Delhi was the Jama Masjid Mosque, built by Shah Jahan of Taj Mahal fame in the 1600s. Us white ladies were required to wear these special robes, singling us out, and me for more pictures with random people. Once the first one started they came out of the woodwork. Last time I'm gonna let that happen.
