Traffic was terrible, as usual, so we hopped off the bus when we hit the main thoroughfare to walk to the restaurant for lunch. It took long enough for us to walk that the bus actually beat us there by a bit. The crowds were thick here. We played frogger a few times crossing alleys and roads and the sidewalk provided a classic Indian experience all tourists should experience.
Bangles
We walked to several buildings in the complex surrounding the palace.
The first Hawa Mahal which overlooks one of the main streets.
Views from top of Hawa Mahal
From Hawa Mahal we walked past Jantar Mantar, the observatory, to the City Palace which contains the Sawai Man Singh II Museum. In the museum we of course learned a little history and viewed some amazing historical artifacts hundreds of years old and very well preserved. Seeing as I learned almost zero India history in school except a little as related to the English colonization this entire trip has been extremely educational.
Kite flying on the way back to the hotel.
