Samode to Shahpura - Day 5

November 14, 2015

What an amazing difference to wake up to bird calls and nature sounds through open windows instead of honking horns and smog thicker with every new day. I won't pretend that I wasn't a little freaked out and not relaxed when I got up at 5am to go to the bathroom and found we had a little visitor with sticky feet hanging out on the wall. :-)

We had a lovely leisurely morning, we enjoyed lots of birds, including parrots and peacocks from our lovely chairs in the front of the 'cabins'.

After breakfast we headed back to the palace to take a walk through the old village within the walls. It was very medieval in its feel compared to anything else we've seen. The entire way down several locals walked with us trying to make a sale. We also gave away the first round of gifts to kids. As son as the first runs off with their treasure, the rest come flooding out to get their pencil or marker. Kids are the same everywhere, a joy.

Before leaving Samode we went back to the Bagh so my parents could see it. Just as lovely lit with sunshine as it was magical at night lit by lanterns.
